Special Committee To Look At Lottery Bill

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Senate is taking action on the lottery bill. Lawmakers have named a special committee to discuss the issue.

The committee will begin by looking at the bill passed by the House last week.

It was the first time the House passed a lottery bill.

Senate Republicans are unified against a lottery. Lottery opponents are hoping five or six Democrats will join them to kill the measure.
