MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — A school bus accident in Moore County sent 17 people to the hospital.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Monday on Highway 705.
The West Pine Middle School baseball team was heading to a game when the driver took a turn too hard. He lost control and the bus ended up on its side.
All occupants were taken to First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. There were no life-threatening injuries.
One student and one adult were kept overnight for observation. Another student was taken to Chapel Hill with an injured vertebrae.
Counselors will be at the school Tuesday to help students deal with the accident.
