<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Sir Walter Raleigh is officially on hiatus.

The statue and downtown landmark was taken down on Sunday to make room for Fayetteville Street Mall construction.

Until the construction project is complete, the statue will be in Ohio getting cleaned and repaired.

City leaders haven't decided where to put the statue when the project is finished It has stood on Fayetteville Street Mall since 1988.
