Two Homes Damaged By Separate Fires

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two homes were damaged by flames in separate fires early Monday morning.

Investigators believe the weather is to blame for a morning fire in Bahama.

Firefighters say flames tore through the attic of a house on Mason Road. Half of the upper level of the home was destroyed.

One person was inside but got out without suffering injuries.

Authorities think lightning hit a tree, which caused flames to spread to the house.

In Wake County, firefighters lost a battle with a trailer fire. The trailer is in a remote area on South Smithfield Road in Wendell.

It appears the roof collapsed. It's not clear if anyone lived in the building.

No one was hurt and there is no word what started the fire.
