HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. — A Halifax man accused of killing his girlfriend is in the hospital after being shot by sheriff's deputies.
The Halifax County Sheriff's office says, the man kidnapped the woman at gunpoint Friday night.
When deputies found them, he was beating her and refused to stop.
That's when deputies opened fire. The woman died from the beating, authorities said.
The deputies who shot the suspect are on administrative leave, which is routine in such incidents.
