RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities tracked down two people suspected in a string of day-care thefts.
Jeffrey Winters and Yvonne Byrd were arrested Wednesday in Colonial Heights, Va., located near Richmond.
Raleigh police believe Winters and Byrd grabbed purses and other valuables from unlocked cars when parents were dropping off their kids.
Investigators said there are as many as 15 similar cases in Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary and Granville County.
