RALEIGH, N.C. — This week, voters could find out the next step in the unresolved race for state school superintendent.
A judge says he'll rule Friday whether laws recently passed should apply to the 2004 race.
One law would prevent the judge from throwing out thousands of provisional ballots.
The other lets the General Assembly decide the race.
Democrat June Atkinson leads Republican Bill Fletcher by 8,500 votes.
