CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators suspect the driver behind a deadly wreck in Cumberland County was drunk.
According to authorities, a deputy was driving on Camden Road when he saw a Ford Mustang from the opposite direction swerve into his lane, then back into the correct lane and keep going.
The deputy turned around to chase the driver, but the driver had already hit another vehicle. The person in that vehicle was killed. A child in the same car suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Mustang is listed in critical condition. His name has not yet been released.
