Body removed from Super 8 motel in Raleigh

Officers initially responded to a refusal-to-leave call about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said, but the incident became a death investigation. Police and crime scene investigators searched room 323 Wednesday evening and a body was removed around 8:15 p.m.

Raleigh police investigating death at Super 8
RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are investigating a death at the Super 8 motel on New Bern Avenue, about a half-mile outside the Beltline.

Officers initially responded to a refusal-to-leave call about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said, but the incident became a death investigation.

Police and crime scene investigators searched room 323 Wednesday evening and a body was removed around 8:15 p.m. 

Sources close to the investigation tell WRAL News that a woman who stayed in room 323 is in a local hospital. Her name and condition were not released.

Throughout the afternoon, the majority of the parking lot was roped off with police tape while officers combed on the motel's third floor.

No other information was released.
