Wind Gust Flips Plane Landing In Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A private plane that was trying to land in Wayne County flipped over and crashed Wednesday afternoon.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the plane was attempting to land at Cox-Grantham Airport, a privately owned airfield in southwestern Wayne County, when wind caught one of the plane's wings as it went in for a landing.

The plane flipped over and it crashed. No injuries were reported.
