Durham Man Charged With Stealing Victim's Truck Tries To Escape From Jail

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man accused of stealing a murder victim's truck tried to break out of an Oklahoma jail.

In February, Keith Kidwell was arrested by Oklahoma state troopers for driving a stolen truck, which belong to Crayton Nelms.

A delivery person found Nelms' body inside the Kangaroo Gas Station on North Roxboro Street. Kidwell is not charged with murder but is considered a suspect.

Oklahoma jailers caught Kidwell before he could break free. Durham police are in the process of bringing him back to North Carolina.
