RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman once charged in a murder-for-hire plot pleaded no contest to fraud charges.
Melissa Davis is the ex-girlfriend of former Lee County prosecutor Bill Huggins.
She is accused of using a credit card in Huggins' name without his permission. A judge sentenced her to 18 months probation.
She also has to pay more than $2,500 in fines.
