RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman who was once homeless is embarking on a new journey, thanks to the kindness of a WRAL viewer.

Crystal Pinckney is entering Job Corps, a federal program that will send Crystal to school for free.

WRAL first had the story of Pinckney in December. She was homeless at the age of 20.

Sonia Bryson saw the story and wanted to help her. She found Pinckney temporary shelter and helped her get into Job Corps.

Pinckney hopes to become a certified nursing assistant. She said she hopes to get a job in the Durham area after she graduates so she can stay close to Bryson.
