FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities have released the name of the person suspected in a deadly hit-and-run accident.
James Lance Campbell, 20, has not been charged at this time in the incident and is cooperating with police.
Ashley Thompson was struck and killed over the weekend while walking on Ireland Drive near Douglas Byrd High School.
After receiving an anonymous tip on March 7, officers located a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle with heavy damage, matching the description of the car involved in the hit and run.
