ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A large Rocky Mount building destroyed by Hurricane Floyd will soon see new life.
The Wal-Mart company is scheduled to buy the Tarrytown Mall early next month. Officials plan to tear it down and build a Sam's Club.
The mall was flooded more than five years ago. It has been empty and falling apart ever since.
Wal-Mart officials told the city they plan to tear down the mall and begin construction within two months.
