Friends try to solve mystery of missing Raleigh mom

Posted September 22, 2012

— Friends and family held a candelit vigil Saturday to ask for people to come forward with clues in the mysterious disappearance of a Raleigh mother two years ago.

Terry Pendergraft Tersak, 33, disappeared while traveling from Asheville to Raleigh on June 1, 2009. She never showed up as expected.

Authorities in Asheville have been looking for leads since Tersak's disappearance, but have come up empty so far and need the public's help to solve the case.

"They need to know that she heard from you or you heard from her. It doesn't matter what time frame it is. It is important," Tersak's friend, Barbara Yelvington, said. "The smallest thing you might think is not important could break this whole case open and tell us where she's at."

Tersak left behind her husband, Stefan, and her son, Xander.

Stefan Tersak has told investigators that his wife abandoned the family, and he does not know where she went.

The website I found doesn't seem like she's missing so much as she's run away...but hey, can't believe everything y'all read online. Here's the link:

She's been gone three years, not two. Wonder why this is being resurrected now?

"Stefan Tersak has told investigators that his wife abandoned the family" - article

Hmmm, I think I know who the number one suspect is.

Where were her friends and family while she was gone? Maybe she did abandon the family out of fear and they know she is safe? OK, if not that, then has the husband taken a polygraph to get himself off the #1 suspect list? I would do that first thing as a spouse to get the investigation going at others.

I think everyone knows it's fishy, and anyone that's looked at the case is 99% sure of what happened and who did it. But they've got to have evidence to prove it.

Wow - there's alot of info on this case online. She was missing for 2 years before anyone reported her missing; husband has outstanding warrant for domestic violence. Definitely sounds fishy.
