More Than 300 Rally In Chapel Hill After Beating Of Student

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill Police are working to nail down details about an attack on a UNC student.

One witness came forward, but didn't offer any new leads.

More that 300 people came to a campus rally to support the victim.

The event included speeches and a march to Franklin street, where the UNC junior says he was attacked early Friday morning.

Police say it's a hate crime because the 6 or 7 suspects who jumped the student made anti-gay comments.
