DURHAM, N.C. — Some people will soon call an old department store home.
The former Baldwin's department store in Durham will officially open as Baldwin Lofts Tuesday morning.
The Main Street landmark has been a staple in the downtown area since 1929.
Greenfire Development turned the upper level of the building into 12 residential units.
Downstairs will be 8,000 square feet of commercial space.
Baldwin Lofts is one of many renovation projects taking place within Durham's inner loop.
