WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson man was arrested Thursday and charged in the shooting death of a teen earlier this week.
Mark Steven Canady, 38, of Lot 7 Mary Ella Mobile Home Park, Wilson, was charged with one count of murder and placed in the Wilson County Jail without bond.
Police believe Canady was involved in the shooting death of a teenager early Wednesday morning. On Wednesday at 2:42 a.m., Wilson police were called to the 100 block of North Pettigrew Street.
Officers arrived and found the body of a young man in an alley behind some abandoned buildings.
The victim, Jamal Farmer, 17, of 406 N. Railroad St., Wilson, had an apparent single gunshot wound to the right side of his body.
Wilson police say that the investigation is continuing.
