DURHAM, N.C. — Nine elementary school students were sent to the hospital Thursday in Durham.
School administrators say a kindergarden student at Eastway Elementary gave several classmates herbal tablets he brought from home.
When the teacher realized what happened, ambulances were called to the school. As a precaution, the students were taken to Duke University Medical Center.
The children were all treated and released from the hospital. Officials said the students will be fine.
There is no word on whether the student who brought the tablets will be punished.
