GOLDSTON, N.C. — An early-morning wreck in Chatham County killed one person Tuesday.
The accident happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Highway 421 near the Highway 902 intersection.
Troopers say it was extremely foggy when an SUV driving northbound crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer head-on.
The SUV driver was killed. That person's name has not been released. The tractor-trailer driver was slightly hurt.
