WARREN COUNTY, N.C. — Warren County commissioners hired a new county manager Wednesday to replace the current one, who is on suspension.
Loria Williams is accused of using inmate labor on private property.
Citizens signed a petition in support of Williams, hoping to keep her on the job, but the commissioners hired Robert Smith as her interim replacement.
Smith will be paid $5,000 a month. Williams is still being paid her full salary.
