RALEIGH, N.C. — It seems Fayetteville Street Mall is getting ripped up early, just not by construction crews.
City officials say skateboarders are grinding up expensive granite on Fayetteville Street Mall.
Huge chunks are either missing or cracked. The damage is estimated at nearly $15,000.
City leaders are not worried about it since the mall will soon be ripped up and turned into a normal street.
