N.C. Senate Bill Would Prevent Teens From Using Cell Phones While Driving

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Some state lawmakers are going after teen drivers who chat on cell phones.

Senate Bill 102

would make it illegal for anyone under 18 to use a cell phone behind the wheel. The bill even includes the use of hands-free devices.

Violators could be slapped with a $100 fine if the bill becomes law.

Cell phone companies believe such restrictive laws are unfair to their industry.
