WILSON, N.C. — Private investigators moved in and out of the Sallie B. Howard School for the Arts and Education in Wilson all week. Answers to testing irregularities on last year's end-of-grade test results came Friday.
The director of the school issued a statement, saying there were "testing improprieties" by a test coordinator that were uncovered. The test coordinator immediately resigned.
Specifically, the director said, the test coordinator did change answers on test sheets. The school says it is in the process of improving security, so that it does not happen again.
School officials said the test coordinator is not a teacher. The state Department of Public Instruction said its investigation is not complete. DPI could not say how many test sheets were altered.
