Durham Council Member Late On Payments Again

DURHAM, N.C. — Once again, Durham City Council Member John Best Jr. is late on his alimony payments.

Last year, a judge sentenced Best to spend 24 hours in jail for failing to make several payments.

Records now show he missed a Monday deadline for paying $250, which is part of more than $13,000 he owes his first wife for ailmony.

He also hasn't paid his full alimony payment of more than $1,100 that was due last month.
