FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police discovered explosives in a man's home Wednesday night during a drug bust.
According to the search warrant, detectives were searching Evugeni Sosa's apartment. They got a tip Sosa stole valuables from Fort Bragg, including watches and computers. They also heard that Sosa was selling drugs out of his home.
Police said when they raided Sosa's Grooms Street home, they found C4, hand grenades and blasting caps. Nearby apartments were evacuated and the bomb squad from Fort Bragg was called in to remove the explosives.
Authorities suspect the munitions were taken from Bragg.
Fayetteville police arrested Sosa and took him to Fort Bragg, where they turned him over to the Army.
