SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A man was found shot to death in a truck Tuesday night on Crantock Road outside of Smithfield.
Johnston County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death as a homicide.
The man, who authorities have not identified, was found alone in a Ford pickup truck.
The truck was found in the 800 block of Crantock Road near Ten Ten Road, six miles west of Smithfield.
A 911 call originally reported the truck as being in an accident.
