Free Land Won't Work As School Site

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The land is free, but probably won't be suitable for a modular school.

The staff of Wake County Schools is expected to recommend board members reject a "free" modular school site within Wakefield Plantation at Tuesday night's board meeting.

The school system says there are issues with power lines on the property and getting the land cleared in time.

Parents in Wakefield Plantation complained about crime around the current proposed site in Wake Forest. They also say the Wake Forest site is too far away from their homes.
