CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A large house in the Governor's Club development near Chapel Hill caught fire Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to the house at 72007 Wilkinson Road around 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The house, which is located in Chatham County, suffered severe damage.
Firefighters called in a ladder truck to spray the roof of the house while firefighters worked in the attic.
Eventually crews were able to get through a ground floor door, but by the then much of the damage was done.
Investigators are still on the scene trying to figure out what caused the fire.
Chatham County tax records from February 2004 show that the 4,371 square foot house was valued at $611,938.
