RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Police Department arrested a man after he led them on a short early-morning chase.
The chase happened around 1:45 a.m., when police officers saw 20-year-old David Cobb breaking into a vehicle at the Palms apartment complex on Horton Street.
When officers approached Cobb, he fled away in his vehicle, driving toward the officers and striking a police car.
Cobb then traveled onto Lake Boone Trail to the exit ramp onto Interstate 440 and then jumped out of his vehicle and ran into a wooded area nearby.
Officers eventually caught Cobb hiding in a nearby shed/shelter. He is being charged with three counts of assault on a police officer and larceny on a vehicle.
