RALEIGH, N.C. — A dump truck loaded with dirt crashed on eastbound Interstate 40/440 Monday, causing major traffic delays.
Raleigh police say the driver of the dump truck tried to avoid a ladder lying in the roadway near Lake Wheeler Road.
The truck's load spilled across four lanes. There is no word on any injuries.
Traffic was backed up for miles. In addition, delays were reported on roads near that area as people look for alternate routes.
