CARY, N.C. — It is a preliminary thumbs-down for a controversial, new low-cost grocery store in northwest Cary.
The town's planning and zoning board is against a proposal to build an Aldi's near the new Lowe's Home Improvement store.
Neighbors are upset because the site is designated for a sit-down restaurant.
The town council will make the final decision next month.
