ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A 3-year-old Roanoke Rapids girl is home from the hospital after being run over by an all-terrain vehicle.
A week ago, Michaela Williams was struck while she was playing on a slide at a playground. Mike Williams, Michaela's father, said her head still hurts and she is in some pain.
"Even though today she is crying, she is able to move around and be upset. I think that is a blessing," said Mike Williams, her father.
Eric Williams, 16, was the driver of the ATV. He said he's sorry about the accident. He is charged with assault and trespassing in connection with the incident.
