Raleigh Woman With Dozens Of Cats Will Not Face Neglect Charges

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh animal control officers say they will not charge a woman found with 75 cats living in her home.

With the help of local animal rescue groups, officers removed a large number of cats from the home. Those groups are now trying to place the cats in new homes and are confident they will be able to to do that.

Animal Control got involved when the Raleigh Fire Department visited the home and found unsanitary conditions for the cats and the owner, Charlotte Jones.

Officers said Jones did not intentionally neglect the animals, but simply got in over her head.
