FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head in Fayetteville.
Authorities said they responded to a report of a shooting shortly before noon in the 100 block of Bullock Street. Upon arrival, they located 61-year-old Barbara Jean Donald, of Fayetteville, lying in the roadway.
Witnesses said Donald had gotten into an argument with an acquaintance who pulled out a shotgun and shot her.
Officers have recovered the weapon and found the alleged shooter at the corner of Murchison Road and Council Street. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Fayetteville Police Department.
Donald was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she is being treated for her injuries.
