e-mail print friendly

As construction nears for improvements on U.S. 1/64 in Cary, officials plan to hold a meeting with the public to talk about the project.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is inviting area motorists and residents to attend a workshop on Jan. 11 at Cary High School.

The meeting will include registration and review of project information, a presentation and an open house. A Kid's Fun Table with crayons and coloring books will be available, so parents may feel free to bring children with them to the meeting. NCDOT staff and members of the Design-Build team will be available to discuss design, construction phasing, answer questions and address any concerns.

The meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at 638 Walnut St. in Cary.

Construction for the project is scheduled to begin on Jan. 17. The $58 million project, awarded to Lane Construction Company, is scheduled for completion in late 2006 and will improve U.S. 1/64 from south of the Interstate 40 interchange to the US 64/Tryon Road interchange.
