DURHAM, N.C. — Nicholas Fuller, who is suspected of shooting an 18-year-old man in the chest Wednesday night in a car on Junction Road, was arrested late Thursday by Durham police at his home on Dodson Street.
According to police, an 18-year-old man and two friends were driving in the 300 block of Junction Road at about 9:45 p.m. when a gray car started to overtake them. As the gray car was passing the victims' vehicle, an occupant of the gray car fired several shots at the vehicle.
The 18-year-old, who was sitting in the right front passenger seat of the victims' vehicle, was shot once in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related and stemmed from a previous shooting incident.
Fuller has been charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/ inflicting serious injury.
The victim is in stable condition.
