DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police arrested a suspect Friday in a nightclub shooting that happened earlier this week.
Jovan Lamont Leach, who was charged in the shooting of an 18-year-old woman early Monday at a downtown Durham nightclub, turned himself in Friday morning at the Durham County Magistrate's Office.
The shooting happened at MK's House of Jazz early Monday morning.
Police say the victim, a woman, was an innocent bystander. Police say the shooting appears to be gang-related.
Leach is charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Police had been looking for Leach for two days before he turned himself in.
