CLAYTON, N.C. — The devastation from the tsunamis in south Asia hits home for a local church.
The Rev. Matt Fry is the leader of Cleveland Community Church in Johnston County. He has preached at New Life Church in Chennai three times over the past two years.
The New Life Church in Chennai has more than 25,000 members, but several hundred of them lost their homes from the natural disaster.
At a service dedicated to the victims Wednesday, Cleveland Community raised more than $10,000 to send to the church in India.
