— Fayetteville authorities have charged a Fort Bragg soldier with abusing his 3-month-old daughter.

Investigators arrested Donald Six, 20, Tuesday and charged him with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury.

According to investigators, Six and his wife took their child to Womack Army Medical Center on Jan. 10. Authorities said the child's injuries were consistent with those of shaken baby syndrome.

3 months is the prime age where the cry at night for hours with some mystery cause... it can be very frustrating. And it doesn't take a lot of shaking to cause damage. He may of only shook her 1 or two times.... and lately it seems like it's always young dads like from age 17 to 25. Sounds like boys need more parental guidance before they become a parent.

This man shouldn't be a father. I pray that this innocent baby pulls through and goes on to have a fulfilling life. Just like the "back to sleep" campaign educating new parents on the prevention of SIDS, there needs to be a national campaign on shaken baby syndrome. PLEASE, if anyone out there feels they are about to lose it with their baby, contact me. I'm NOT a professional, but as a mother of three (the youngest being 8 months) I know the frustrations that new parents can experience raising a baby and I could at least offer emotional support to anyone out there. We should pray for this 3 month old's recovery.

Another moron in our midst. I'd like to inflict some brain damage on him, in addition to what he already has.

Unfortunately, I believe spirit has the solution. This may be the only way to educate, prepare, and get information in the hands of individuals to end this. The sad fact is that the baby may of only wanted to burp, eat, or to be held!

I remember my mom just saying " That's it....you're done, I gotta go" and she'd make my Dad stay and she'd go for a walk. Anyone that shakes a baby has serious issues and needs to learn some control. Jesus...you have to take a test to have a driver's license, but almost anybody can have a kid.

How sad. It is so sad those of us that want children have a hard time having them. Don't harm these kids email me and I will take them and treat them the way they should be treated.

These stories will continue until child development/parenting skills are taught in the school from about age 10 on. I believe that if each child from the age of 12 and up were required to spend one week in a daycare, there would be less unplanned teen pregnancies and less child abuse.
Am praying fervently for this plan.
    God bless.

The problem is that people that are in rage don't think to stop and calm themselves before they inflict injury on another. I'm wondering why the wife isn't charged particularly if they took the child to the hospital together.
