<b>JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C.</b> — One person is dead and another injured in a traffic accident in Johnston County.

Authorities say Jeffrey Gautier's SUV crossed the center line on Buffalo Road Friday morning and hit a car head-on.

The driver, 63-year-old Joanne Godwin of Selma, died at the scene. Her husband, Keith, is in serious condition at Duke Medical Center.

Gautier faces DWI and involuntary manslaughter charges.
