RALEIGH, N.C. — Thousands of revelers spent the last night of 2004 in downtown Raleigh for the .
First Night Raleigh
festivities.
This year, the festivities moved from Fayetteville Street Mall to Litchtin Plaza at the BTI Center.
The streets between the BTI Center and the Convention Center were shut down for a block party. More than 100 groups performed for the revelers.
Children's activites began Friday afternoon with a parade and many other activities.
For those who stayed until midnight, they were treated to the official Acorn Drop and a fireworks show.
