print friendly

A suspected drunken driver wreaked havoc in a local cemetery Monday night.

Investigators said Daniel Brownie, 22, lost control of his SUV in Bunnlevel at about 8:30 p.m. and crashed through dozens of gravestones at the Old Friendship Baptist Cemetery on McNeill Hobbs Road.

A trooper compared the damage -- a 200-foot path of broken marble and knocked-down tombstones -- to that of a tornado.

Investigators believe Brownie ran off the highway and into the cemetery going 65 mph.
