FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A long-time Fayetteville motel is giving a kiss goodbye.
Phyllis Wolff, the owner of Beck's Romance Motel, sold the business after running it for the past 20 years. When Wolff tells people what she does for a living, she gets all sorts of reactions.
"Oh, that place! Nobody ever admits coming here though," Wolff said.
Wolff said she is not sure what the new owners will do with the pink motel and the heart-shaped sign, that are located along Raeford Road.
Wolff hands over the motel Sunday. She said she is looking for a job that is less demanding. Many things, including a heart-shaped tub and decorations, are still for sale.
