DURHAM, N.C. — Charges are pending against a Durham man who held his wife and their 7-year-old daughter hostage.
Negotiators spent several hours trying to convince him to free his family Sunday. It all started around 3:30 p.m. in their home on North Guthrie Avenue.
The man let his daughter go first, then his wife. The standoff ended peacefully around 7:30 p.m.
The suspect went to the hospital for some sort of stomach injury. He will have a mental evaluation. The results of that will determine what charges he will face.
