The Williams family lost almost everything they owned in a mobile home fire Wednesday.
"Everything my dad owned is gone. The only stuff that was saved are our bedrooms," fire victim Cassie Williams said.
No one was injured in the fire, and the community could not wait to help. People keep calling the fire station that responded to the call to ask what they could do to help.
"It's kind of unusual for us, to tell you the truth. We don't see a whole lot of it," said deputy chief Hand Harris, of the Cotton Fire Department.
Most callers to the fire department had never met the Williams family, but when they heard about the single father and his three children, it did not matter.
Charlie Cole and his friends were drinking coffee at a restaurant when they decided to start a collection for the family. Cole said they made $134 in just 30 minutes.
"[It was] just a bad time for the kids. Your heart goes out to them" he said. "You always feel good when you can help someone, you know, at least I do."
In fact, many people from all over the region sent money. Others donated food, toys and quilts.
