DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police want to get a suspected killer behind bars.

Police believe Tyrone Lacour beat Dennis Rowe and stuffed him in a trash can. Police said Rowe's head was covered in a plastic bag, his hands tied behind him and parts of his body wrapped in duct tape.

Police spent two days at Rowe's Northgate Park house searching for clues. According to search warrants, investigators took more than 130 pieces of evidence. Most of the items, including handcuffs and duct tape, had blood on them.

Homicide investigators say their evidence points to Lacour. They have charged him in the murder, but they cannot find him.

Lacour has been a murder suspect before when he was charged three years ago in the murder of a Person County man. In that case, the district attorney did not find enough evidence to try him. This time, Durham police believe they have the evidence they need to make a murder charge stick against Lacour.

Durham police think Lacour could be in Goldsboro, Roxboro or New Orleans. They are working with officers in those areas and have put out a nationwide alert to try and find him.
