DURHAM, N.C. — A Creedmoor man has been charged with murder in the beating death of his 4-month-old son.
The boy, Hunter Johnson, had suffered severe head injuries and other trauma from a series of abusive events, according to the Durham Police Department.
The baby was brought to Duke University Hospital for treatment of his injuries Saturday. Investigators were notified about the injuries on Monday. Hunter died Monday evening.
His father, George Walter Johnson, 25, is being held in the Durham County Jail without bond.
Police said the family moved to the area from South Carolina about seven weeks ago.
