WILSON COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators said a driver killed in a wreck during a police chase in Wilson County on Saturday was not old enough to have a license.
Officials said Juan Salazar, 15, was driving a car with stolen plates the wrong way on Highway 301.
The state Highway Patrol said a Wilson officer chased Salazar for several miles until he slammed into the side of a pickup truck.
Salazar died from his injuries.
It is unclear how the teenager got the car or why he was running from police.
